These years in China many public facilities have been built, and many of them are well-equipped. In China, most public toilets are squatting ones and you can find them in commercial areas and are usually well-marked even in some narrow roads. If you want to find a toilet, look for a "WC" sign. A useful word to know is Ce Suo(厕所), which is Chinese for toilet. If you could not find them, you can ask our local people for help. Most public toilets are free but without toilet paper, so it is advisable to always carry some tissue paper with you at all times. But in some toilets they offer people tissue paper, you should pay them the money. In many better toilets, you can find toilet paper just beside the wall. If you can’t seem to find a washroom, try to find a McDonalds or KFC or decent hotels, where there is a clean washroom available. In places of interest, there are always many toilets for you and they are very clean.
